Climate Crisis: California in Focus
What is the climate crisis?
A crise climática é o nome attributed to the disastrous events resulting from the increase of CO2 and other greenhouse gases on the planet. Gases are substances that are already present in the atmosphere and that absorb part of the infrared radiation emitted by the Sun and reflected by the Earth's surface, preventing the escape of radiation, heat, into space. However, the high rates of emissions by anthropological action can cause various damages, such as an increase in the Earth's average temperature, the melting of polar ice caps and the consequent rise in sea level followed by the flooding of islands and coastal cities, in addition to the destruction of ecosystems and extreme weather events.
